Bushwick Boogie Woogie
The artists of high modernism took influence from the frantic juxtapositions of cityscapes like New York, Paris, and Berlin. This ongoing project seeks to reverse-engineer the ways of seeing that enabled those aesthetic breakthroughs. In the streets of my Brooklyn neighborhood, I seek out traces of Color Field painting, AbEx splatter, Dada collage, and ready-made sculpture.
